Built on Three Generations of Craftsmanship

JBJ Iron Works was founded in 2011 by brothers Bolivar Peralta and Jorge Peralta with a shared vision of building a company founded on quality craftsmanship, integrity, and hard work.

While the company officially began in 2011, its story started decades earlier.

Growing up in Ecuador, Bolivar Peralta learned the trade from his father, a skilled craftsman and welder who created custom gates, fences, decorative ironwork, and hand-forged metal pieces long before modern fabrication equipment became common. Every project was built by hand, teaching the value of precision, patience, and pride in one’s work.

After immigrating to the United States in 1998, Bolivar expanded his expertise by working on structural steel projects throughout New York. His background as an Electrical Engineering graduate, combined with years of hands-on experience in structural steel, welding, and architectural metalwork, gave him a unique understanding of both engineering principles and practical fabrication.

In 2003, Jorge Peralta joined his brother in New York and developed his own expertise while working alongside him on structural steel and custom metal projects. Together, they gained years of experience working on residential, commercial, and structural steel projects across the city, building the skills and confidence needed to start a business of their own.

FIFTEEN YEARS OF GROWTH AND TRUST

BEFORE 1998

Bolivar learns welding and ironwork in Ecuador from his father, continuing a family tradition of craftsmanship.

1998

Bolivar immigrates to New York and begins working in structural steel and architectural metal fabrication.

2003

Jorge arrives in New York and joins his brother, gaining years of hands-on experience in structural steel and custom projects.

2011

JBJ Iron Works is founded with a commitment to quality, integrity, and craftsmanship.

2011 – 2026

15 years of growth and trust, serving communities across NYC, Long Island, and New Jersey.

Like many immigrant entrepreneurs, Bolivar and Jorge faced challenges beyond the trade itself — learning how to build a business in a new country, adapting to a different language, and earning trust one project at a time. What they lacked in business experience, they made up for with resilience, discipline, and an unwavering commitment to their craft. Today, JBJ Iron Works continues to specialize in custom ironwork, structural steel, welding, railings, gates, fences, staircases, repairs, and custom metal fabrication — proud of its past and excited for its future.
